A funeral will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2024 for 78-year-old Joe W. Clinton Jr. of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away peacefully at home Thursday, July 25, 2024, fortified with the sacraments of Holy Catholic Church.
He was born August 23, 1945 in Lexington, Kent., a son of Joe W. Clinton, Sr. and Opal N. (Lyons) Clinton who both preceded him in death.
He is survived by Gretchen Kessler of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; four daughters: Tracy Frontroth of Tucson, Ariz., Leanna Duncan of Tucson, Ariz., Claire Clinton of Edmond, Okla., and Hannah Clinton of Ste Genevieve, Mo.; three sons: Luke Clinton of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., Peter Clinton of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., and John Clinton of Ste. Genevieve, Mo.; a brother: Larry (Charlotte) Clinton of Vienna, W.V.; his first wife: Rebecca Clinton of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren: Gwendolyn Clinton Davis, Lileah Duncan, Isabella Duncan, Priscilla Duncan, Jacob Clonts, Vincent Clonts, Penny McKnight, Jade West, and James West; nieces and nephews: Kimberly (Jim) Nelson, Robert Gottshall, Janice Tupman, Brandy Richardson, Jimmy Clinton, Susan Stanley, and Jeff Clinton.
He was also preceded in death by a sister: Sharon Gottshall; and a grandchild: Constantine Clonts.
He was a member of VFW Post 2210. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army and Air Force, He was a faithful parishioner of Ste. Genevieve Catholic Church and St. Francis de Sales Oratory in St. Louis.
He was a loving and devoted father and he will be missed by all who knew him.
A Requiem Mass for 78-year-old Joe W. Clinton Jr. of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. will be held Tuesday July 30, 2024 at St. Francis de Sales Oratory in St. Louis, MO at 11:30 a.m. Mass will be performed by Rev. Canon Gerald Bell
Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Saint Louis, Mo. with full military honors at 1:30 p.m.
