Three persons hurt, two seriously, in Perry County crash

JEFFERSON CITY – Three persons were hurt, two of them seriously, in a traffic crash on Route E in Perry County Friday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports:

23-year-old Alexander T. Smith of Jackson suffered serious injuries and was taken to St. Louis University Hospital by an Air Evac helicopter.

A 17-year-old Perryville male suffered serious injuries and was taken to Cardinal Glennon Hospital by Arch 4 helicopter.

25-year-old David T. Hebert of Perryville suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mercy Hospital Perry by a Perry County ambulance.

The patrol says all three were unrestrained.

The patrol says the crash happened when a westbound 2003 Chevrolet 1500 driven by the 17-year-old male failed to negotiate a curve to the left, ran off the right side of the roadway, striking a ditch and an embankment and then striking a tree.

The patrol says the crash happened about 7:31 p.m. at Perry County Road 208.

The Chevrolet was a total loss and was removed by Perry County Towing.
