It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Grandpa Hoot. A loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, veteran, and a true friend to all that knew him. There are no words to describe the immeasurable void his passing has left in our hearts, but they say that great grief is born only of great love, and those who were lucky enough to be loved by him know that his love was simply the greatest.

Hoot was a man of immense kindness, strength, and love. His life was a testament to the values he held dear – family, friendship, and service to his community. He served his country with honor and continued to serve his family, friends, and community with that same dedication. Growing up, the one thing we always knew was that he was going to be there – day after day, year after year, as his 4 children, 10 grand-children and 6 great grand-children worked their way through the various phases of life. And now, he’ll be there still, watching over us as we each reach new milestones in life, but this time, from the best seat in the house.

We will miss him so deeply but will look for peace in the memories and laughter we shared, enjoying time in the garden and on the golf course, watching the cardinals, and by doing what he did every single day; making his beautiful wife, family, friends, and community feel so very cherished & loved – and by knowing, he has some good company up in Heaven.

We have no doubt that God heard him coming.

He was a member of American Legion Post No. 150, VFW Post. No. 2210, Past President of the Ste. Genevieve Jaycees, Valle Athletic Club, Ste. Genevieve County Horseshoe League, Ste. Genevieve Golf Club and Knights of Columbus 1037.
