Two Farmington residents hurt in Highway 32 crash in Ste. Genevieve County

JEFFERSON CITY — Two Farmington residents suffered moderate injuries in a traffic crash on Highway 32 in Ste. Genevieve County Monday morning.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 84-year-old James A. Copanas and 71-year-old Sherice J. Copanas were taken to Mercy Hospital South by Ste. Genevieve County ambulances.

 

The patrol’s accident report says the crash happened when the 2007 Ford Taurus James Copanas was driving east on 32 struck the rear of a 2024 Kenworth T680 which was stopped in traffic in a construction zone.

 

The driver of the truck, 53-year-old Donald O. Pipham of West Frankfort, Illinois, was not injured.

 

The patrol reports all three persons were buckled up.

 

The crash happened about 11:18 a.m. west of Flieg Road.

 

The Taurus was a total loss and was towed by Ste. Genevieve County.

 

The Kenworth had minor damage and was driven from the scene.
