Kenneth Ray Doza

A funeral will be held Thursday, June 27, 2024 for 83-year-old Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Doza who passed away June 23, 2024 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau, just one month shy of his 84th birthday.

 

He was born July 25, 1940 in Crystal City, Mo. to Harry J. and Genevieve E. (Barbey) Doza who both preceded him in death.

 

He is survived by a daughter: Yvonne M. (Jeffrey) Doza-Shepherd of Festus, Mo.; a son: Scott A. (Donna) Doza; a sister: Janet M. (Bryan) Albaugh of Fulton, Mo.; grandchildren: Brandon (Tasha) Reece of Cedar Hill, Mo., Carissa Kinder of Festus, Mo., Alaya Shepherd of Spokane, Wash., Landen Shepherd of Festus, Mo., Ciara Shepherd of Pevely, Mo., Malia Shepherd of Woodford, Virg., and Ashley, Allison, and Alicia Doza all of Bloomsdale, Mo.; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; nieces and nephews: Trent (Yvonne) Patterson of Conran, Mo., Donna (Kris) Underwood of Hernando, Miss., Darryl Patterson of Portageville, Mo., Lisa (Britt) McClendon of Sikeston, Mo., Steve (Michelle) Albaugh of Fulton, Mo., and many more family and friends.

 

He was also preceded in death by: his wife: Naomi I. Doza; a sister: Brenda L. (Elwood) Patterson of Portageville, Mo.; his half brother: Ronald Doza of St. Mary, Mo.; and a nephew: John Albaugh of Fulton, Mo.

 

Kenny was a Lifetime member of NRA, and a member of Disabled American Veterans and American Legion Post 253 in Festus, Mo.

 

He proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1957 through 1959.

 

Kenny had an associates art degree from Washington University in St. Louis and was an auto body specialist for most of his life.

He was a survivalist, loved gardening, fishing, hiking, camping and anything to do with nature including hunting.

 

Kenny was an avid collector of many different things and enjoyed fresh Oberle sausage.

 

His stories and contagious laugh will live on forever in our hearts.

 

Entertaining his grandkids and children in general were one of the biggest highlights of his life.

 

Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.

 

A funeral for 83-year-old Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Doza will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024 at the Basler Funeral Home.

 

Burial will follow at Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cape Girardeau or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
