Perryville receives $40,000 boost in April sales tax revenue

PERRYVILLE – Perryville’s one percent general sales tax revenue increased by more than $40,000 in April compared to April 2023.

 

According to a report from the Taxation Division of the Missouri Department of Revenue the proceeds from April were transferred on May 7th with a deposit to the city’s account at the Bank of Missouri.

 

The one percent sales tax brought in $175,725 in April.

 

Through the first four months of the calendar year, the tax has raised $726,397.05, an increase of $68,026 over the same period last year.

 

The city’s two other sales taxes also showed increases in the month to month and year to date categories. Those taxes are dedicated to public mass transportation and capital improvements.

 

The city’s consolidated city use tax brought in $53,715, an increase of nearly $9,648 over April 2023.

 

Through the first four months of the year the consolidated city use tax has raised $238,585, an increase of $27,952.
