PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Missouri’s National Veterans Memorial (MNVM) is proud to announce its new addition to the Museum’s USMC exhibit dedicated to the 1st Battalion/27th Marine Regiment, highlighting their valiant contributions during the Vietnam War. MNVM is scheduled to host the veterans who served within that unit on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10 a.m.
This poignant exhibit serves as a tribute to the bravery & sacrifices made by these Marines in service to our nation. The exhibit has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Colonel John N. Mcgruder III Award by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, recognizing its exceptional efforts in preserving and commemorating Marine Corps history.
This accolade underscores the exhibit’s significance in honoring the legacy of the 1st Battalion/27th Marine Regiment and educating visitors about their vital role in history. The exhibit features artifacts, photographs, personal stories, and displays that provide a comprehensive insight into the experiences & challenges faced by the Marines during their service.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the regiment’s history, its significant contributions to the war effort, and the enduring impact of their actions.
The exhibit will officially open to the public on Thursday, June 20th at 11 a.m., inviting Veterans, families, students, and history enthusiasts to experience this compelling tribute firsthand.
