A funeral will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 for 41-year-old Brett Thomas Layton of Perryville, Mo. who passed away Friday, June 14, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson, Festus, Mo.
He was born January 14, 1983 in Perryville, Mo. to Jackie Francis and Denise Kathleen (Elder) Layton, who survive.
He is also survived by a brother: Christopher (Stefany) Layton of Perryville; a sister: Amber (Eric) Brewer of Oak Ridge; nieces and nephews: Waylon and Adalyn Layton, Bailey, Brayden, and Sage Brewer; paternal-grandmother: Dorothy M. Clausen of Perryville; and his beloved companion, Milo.
He was preceded in death by his paternal-grandfather, Eugene Francis Layton; and his maternal-grandparents, George Leon and Doris Marie Elder.
Brett was a Walmart Associate for 18 years and then for the last four and half years he worked at TGMO in Perryville.
He enjoyed reading, cooking and especially raising chickens with his brother. Brett loved spending time with his nieces, nephews and his dog Milo.
He was a member of Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and will continue from 8-9:20 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home.
A funeral mass for 41-year-old Brett Thomas Layton of Perryville, Mo. will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2024 at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer with the Rev. Joe Geders C.M. officiating.
Burial will be at Christ the Savior Catholic Cemetery in Perryville.
Memorial contributions may be given to Mid America Transplant Foundation.
