Rose N. Wilson

A funeral will be held Thursday, June 20, 2024 for 97-year-old Rose N. Wilson of Waterloo, Ill., who passed away at 4:25 pm, Sunday, June 16, 2024 at her residence. 

 

She was born May 14, 1927 in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky to William and Ethel (nee Bartlett) Tabb who both preceded her in death.

 

She married Raymond Murray on August 11, 1945 in Paradise, Kentucky; he preceded her in death on December 8, 1969.

 

She married George Wilson on January 15, 1978 in Dupo, Illinois; he preceded her in death on August 10, 1993.

 

She is survived by five children: Nancy Murray of Red Bud, Ill., David (Connie) Murray of Baldwin, Ill., Dennis (Alice) Murray of Waterloo, Ill., Alvis (Bev) Murray of Waterloo, Ill. and Linda Soeder Waterloo, Ill.; 17 grandchildren: Wilson Hallman, Daren Hallman, LaJune Wombles, Davey Murray, Dennis Lee Murray, Amanda Bucholz, John Murray, Dennis Morgan Murray, Tony Murray, Bridget Woodsmall, Lisa Gilbert, Amy Yearian, Sarah Bartosik, Alvis Lee Murray, Amanda McCubbin, Johnna Soeder and Josh Walker; 40 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

She was also preceded in death: by a daughter: Carol Lattina, three brothers, and four sisters.

 

Rose had owned various restaurants and had been a homemaker.

 

She enjoyed cooking and had her cookbook full of her recipes.

 

She loved sewing, playing bingo, and having family get-togethers. 

 

She was of the Baptist Faith.

 

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19 and 10-11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud, Illinois.

 

A funeral for 97-year-old Rose N. Wilson of Waterloo, Ill., will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud, Ill. Pastor Daren Hallman, officiating.

 

Interment will be in the Waterloo City Cemetery in Waterloo, Ill.

 

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Tymeless Hearts.
