A funeral will be held Monday, June 17, 2024 for 98-year-old Jewell L. Cheslick of Chester, Ill., who passed away at 2:55 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Three Springs Senior Living and Rehabilitation, Chester, Illinois.
She was born February 26, 1926 in Ava, Ill. a daughter to William and Clara (nee Suchman) Cluster on February 26, 1926.
Jewell married John L. Cheslick June 26, 1946 in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on December 3, 2010.
She is survived by two daughters: Sandy (Bill) Warhausen of Carbondale, Ill. and Patty (Glenn) Kelkhoff of Tulsa, Okla.; a sister: Ruby Stratmann of Evansville, Ill.; three grandchildren: Angela (Brian) O’Keefe of O’Fallon, Mo., Brad (Jennifer) Warhausen of Chester, Ill., and Dr. Aaron (Julie) Kelkhoff of Tulsa, Okla.; nine great grandchildren: Caroline, Braeden, and Emmalyn O’Keefe and Hunter, Connor, and Colton Warhausen and Heloise, John, and Clara Kelkhoff; many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters: Wilma Grewe, Doris Jean Cluster, Mary Caron, and Norma Schimpf, and three brothers: Claude Cluster, William Cluster, and Roger Cluster.
She had worked at the International Shoe Factory and the Knitting Mill in Chester before she became a homemaker.
Jewell was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church and the Altar Sodality in Chester, Illinois. She also volunteered in the cafeteria at St. Mary’s Catholic School in Chester.
Jewell and her husband, John, enjoyed traveling and especially loved to go to Branson, Mo.
Visitation will be 9:30-11 a.m. Monday, June 17, 2024 at the Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Chester, Ill.

Interment in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Chester, Ill.
