Two women hurt in French Village Road crash Wednesday

JEFFERSON CITY – A 20-year-old Bloomsdale woman was one of two persons hurt in a traffic crash on French Village Road in Ste. Genevieve County Wednesday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Ashley A. Mendonsa was taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus by ambulance.

The patrol says Mendonsa was the driver of a southbound 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis which ran off the road on a curve, struck a sign, struck an embankment, returned to the roadway, spun around, ran off the road and struck a tree.

A passenger in the car, 22-year-old Ariel A. French, had minor injuries and was also taken to Mercy Jefferson Hospital.

The patrol says both women were buckled up.

The crash happened about 7:35 a.m. at Aubuchon.

The Mercury received moderate damage and was towed by Buckley’s Towing.
