Sharon L. Hammers

A celebration of life will be held at a future date for 76-year-old Sharon L. Hammers of Prairie du Rocher, Illinois, who passed away at 9:54 am, Saturday, June 8, 2024 at her residence.

 

She was born September 7, 1947 in Red Bud, a daughter of Ardell Lalumondiere and Aloha (nee Poppen) Jones who both preceded her in death.

 

She is survived by two daughters: Samantha (Robert) Rhoades Beloit, Wisc. and Tammra Reinhold of Prairie du Rocher, Ill.; six grandchildren: Cody, Erin, Bobby, Nikki, Bill and Tyler; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers: David Winch and Robert Winch, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

She was also preceded in death by her step-father: Bill Jones, a sister: Linda Bauer, two brothers:

Carl Lalumondiere and Edward Winch, two nephews: Ricky Ray  and Carl Balsom, two sons-in-law: Daniel Reinhold and Michael Donjon and and a brother-in-law: Roger Bauer.

 

Sharon worked at Singer Furnace Factory in Red Bud, Illinois and Gilster Mary-Lee Corporation

in Chester, Illinois.

 

She was the former owner of Boondocks Bar in Modoc, Illinois for 20 years, before selling the business in 2019.

 

She loved music, singing, art, swimming, fishing, watching movies and spending time with family and

friends.

 

It was Sharon’s wish to be cremated.

 

The family is planning a celebration of life to be held at a future date.
