Chester hosts Mobile Market

CHESTER – The May 22 Mobile Market sponsored by the Chester Area Christian Food Pantry was held at the Cohen Recreation Complex parking lot.

 

 

Approximately 25 volunteers came out to assist with the event and there were approximately 85 different vehicles that drove down the food pickup line. Jim Beers Photo 

 

Some of the items being given away in May were bags of potatoes, water melons. heads of cabbage, frozen french fries, hot dog buns, frozen fish, baby food, vegetables, soft drinks, frozen pies, and fresh apples.

The Chester Area Christian Food Pantry is open every Monday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to the pantry, on the fourth Wednesday of each month the pantry hosts a Mobile Market FREE food giveaway. This event is supported with food items provided by the St. Louis Area Food Bank and some local stores and individuals. The Mobile Market is hosted at the Cohen Recreation Complex in Chester, Illinois. The Mobile Market begins at 8 a.m.
