Authorities update charges in double child homicide

HILLSBORO – Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak, St. Francois County Sheriff Daniel Bullock, and St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney Blake Dudley announce additional charges in a double homicide with two juvenile victims.

36-year-old Ashley Parmeley of Pevely is now charged with one count of Murder – 1st Degree and one count of Armed Criminal Action. Investigators with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Dive Team believe Parmeley shot and killed her nine-year-old daughter at an address in St. Francois County May 28 before driving the girl’s body to the Festus Police Department. The agencies worked with the St. Francois County Prosecutor to build this case and, hopefully, deliver justice for the two young victims.

The new charges are in addition to the count of Murder – 2nd Degree issued by Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Trisha Stefanski on 5-28, relating to the death of Parmeley’s two-year-old son.

Parmeley remains in custody at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.

Sheriff Marshak would like to thank the men and women of the St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department, the St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol Dive Team for their assistance in this investigation.
