JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Republican Party has strongly condemned an attempt by former Missouri Democratic Party Chair Stephen Webber to manipulate the judicial system for political advantage in the 19th Senate District court case.

The party has announced its decision to join the lawsuit alongside the Republican Senatorial Committee in defense of fair elections.

Webber, a former Chair of the Missouri Democratic Party and current Democratic candidate for State Senate in the 19th District, filed a lawsuit against the Republican Senatorial Committee in an egregious effort to remove the Republican candidate from the ballot.

“It is deeply concerning that Webber, who used to run the Missouri Democratic Party, would resort to such underhanded political tactics,” remarked Nick Myers, Chairman of the Missouri Republican Party. “His actions demonstrate a troubling willingness to prioritize partisan interests over the democratic principles that our nation holds dear. This brazen misuse of the legal system undermines the very foundation of democracy and represents a disturbing national trend of political election interference by the Democratic Party.”

The Missouri Republican Party reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to preserving the integrity of the electoral process and ensuring fair and open elections. By joining the lawsuit alongside the Republican Senatorial Committee, the party aims to defend the rights of all Missourians to participate in the democratic process without fear of political manipulation.

Chairman Myers said any attempt to exploit the legal system for partisan political gain will be met with staunch opposition.

“Stephen Webber has allowed the partisanship in his former position with the Missouri Democratic Party to blind him to the need for transparency and fairness in our electoral system,” added Chairman Myers. “Voters deserve to have confidence that their elections are free from manipulation and undue influence, which Webber attempted to achieve with this lawsuit.”

The Missouri Republican Party is calling on Mr. Webber to withdraw this baseless lawsuit and engage in a campaign based on issues and differences.

“We will not tolerate Democrat attempts to subvert the will of the people through legal manipulation. We stand firm in our defense of fair elections and call on all Missourians to reject these underhanded tactics and support the integrity of our democratic process,” said Chairman Myers.
