A memorial service will be held at a future date for 76-year-old Joseph R. Haas of Coulterville, Ill., who passed away at 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Three Springs Senior Living and Rehabilitation in Chester, Ill.
He was born June 11, 1947 in Belleville, Ill., a son of the late Raymond Joseph and Bernice Mary (nee Germann) Haas, who both preceded him in death.
Joseph married Janice Dempsey on October 31, 1969 in Belleville, Ill.; she preceded him in death on January 25, 2017.
He is survived by a daughter: Sonja (Rabecca) Haas of Colona, Ill.; four grandchildren: Hannah, Zachary, Jacob and Grace; four great grandchildren: Seth, Natalie, Madelyn and Lia; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by an infant sister: Mary Haas.
He had worked as a restaurant manager and also had worked as a laborer for Spartan Light Metals.
When Joseph was younger he was a slow pitch softball umpire.
It was Joseph’s wish to be cremated.
