Missouri Conservation Commission Action – May 2024

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Conservation Commission met Thursday, May 23 for a workshop and closed executive session and Friday, May 24 for its regular open meeting. All were held at Conservation Department Headquarters, 2901 W. Truman Blvd. in Jefferson City.

The Commission:

 

Approved recommendations for changes to the Wildlife Code regarding rules pertaining to all portions of the 2024-2025 deer hunting season.

 

Approved the Department’s Fiscal Year 2025 Internal Expenditure Plan.

 

Approved consideration of bids for the construction of the Chesapeake Fish Hatchery Exterior Building Renovations project located in Chesapeake.

 

Approved consideration of bids for the construction of the Columbia Bottom Conservation Area Entrance Road Relocation project located in St. Louis.

 

Approved consideration of bids for the construction of the Commission Headquarters Site Renovation project located in Jefferson City.

 

Approved consideration of bids for the construction of the Busch (August A) Memorial Conservation Area St. Louis Regional Office Building Exterior Renovations and Concrete Tilt-up Panel Structural Repairs projects located in St. Charles.

 

Approved the purchase of approximately 160 acres in Harrison County as an addition to Pawnee Prairie Conservation Area.

 

Approved the disposal of a 13-acre tract of Rocky Fork Conservation Area in Boone County via a competitive bid process.

 

Approved the dispose of a 201.78-acre tract which is a portion of the Binder Lake Park in Cole County via a transfer of ownership to Jefferson City.

 

Approved the dispose of a 15.2-acre tract as Possum Woods Conservation Area in St. Louis County by a transfer of ownership to the City of Kirkwood.

 

Approved the advertisement and sale of an estimated 785,392 board feet of timber located on 366 acres of Compartment 12, Angeline Conservation Area in Shannon County.

 

Approved the advertisement and sale of an estimated 3,260,974 board feet of timber located on 792 acres of Compartment 16, Current River Conservation Area in Reynolds County.

 

Approved the advertisement and sale of an estimated 1,244,466 board feet of timber located on 830 acres of Compartment 8, Rocky Creek Conservation Area in Shannon County.

 

Approved the advertisement and sale of an estimated 778,000 board feet of timber located on 310 acres of Compartment 2, Woodson K. Woods Conservation Area in Phelps County.
