A funeral will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024 for 65-year-old Mark Allen Jany of Chester, Ill., who passed away at 6:16 pm, Thursday, May 23, 2024 at SIH Memorial Hospital, Carbondale Illinois.
He was born July 16, 1958 in Red Bud, a son of Donald and Nedra (nee Casetta) Jany, who both preceded him in death.
He is survived by five siblings: David Jany of Chester, Ill., Paul Jany of Chester, Ill., Kevin (Tammy) Jany of Columbus, Mont., Douglas (Sarah) Jany of El Cajon, Calif. and Laurie Jany (Mark Glander) of Walsh, Ill.; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a brother: Joseph Jany, a sister: Christine Jany and a sister-in-law: Vicki Jany.
Mark was a retired supervisor from Gilster Mary-Lee Corporation.
He was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester.
Mark was also a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 3790 and the Eagles Aerie No. 3252 in Chester.
He enjoyed golfing and gardening.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 27, 2024 and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the
Pechacek Funeral Home, Chester, Ill.
A funeral for 65-year-old Mark Allen Jany of Chester, Ill., will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at the Pechacek Funeral Home, Chester, Ill. Officiating: Father Sebastian Ukoh.
Interment will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Chester, Illinois.
