Riverside Regional Library summer reading program starts soon

JACKSON, Mo. – Your summer adventure begins at your nearest Riverside Regional Library branch.

Riverside Regional Library’s Summer Reading Program kicks off on May 30 and 31 at all library branches.

Throughout June and July, the libraries will feature awesome performers and great programs for all ages. A wide variety of events are planned from crafts for all ages to book clubs and story times.

The reading challenge offers incentives for signing up and prizes for completing the challenge by July 31.

“Riverside Regional Library’s Summer Reading Program brings performers from across the region to our six branch libraries for fun, entertaining and educational programs. This program is especially important for children to keep them engaged in learning and reading over the summer. Businesses and organizations have donated funds and prizes that encourage our patrons to participate, and we couldn’t do this program without the community’s support.” states Library Director Frankie Lea Hannan.

The performers this year include ventriloquist and magician Rusty Pliers on May 30 and 31, Will Stuck’s Adventures into the Absurd on June 11 and 12, and Leonardo Music on June 17 and 18. The Green Bear Project will present programs on June 5 and 6 and Cape Conservation Nature Center’s programs will be on July 16 and 17.

All performers will appear at each library branch so check for details at the library’s website www.riversideregionallibrary.org.
