A funeral will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 for 72-year-old Sharon Jean Ritter of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at her home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
She was born October 15, 1951 in Perryville, Mo., a daughter of Della (Zahner) Taylor and John H. Taylor who both preceded her in death.
She married Carl Ritter June 4, 1971. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons: Carl “Sam” (Dawn) Ritter Jr. of Ste. Genevieve, Mo, and Kevin Ritter of Perryville, Mo.; daughter: Dr. Sherry “Boo” Ritter of Charleston, S.C.; two brothers: Allan Taylor of Farmington, Mo., and Randy Taylor of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; three sisters: Tammy Perkins of Dexter, Mo., Nickie Ditch of Perryville, Mo., and Kim Brown of Jackson, Mo.; grandchildren: Nicole Estopare, Anna (Derek) Brown and Nathan Ritter; great grandchildren: Carter and Parker Brown; numerous nieces and nephews; best friend: Nancy Brewster.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers: John H. Taylor, Jr., and Bruce L. Taylor.
Sharon was a woman of unshakable faith who firmly believed in God and family first.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, St. Mary, Mo. where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, assistant pianist, treasurer, cooked and many other roles within the church.
She volunteered with the Cape Girardeau Area Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Ministry and she helped deliver Meals on Wheels.
Sharon devoted her life to helping others and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
A funeral for 72-year-old Sharon Jean Ritter of Sainte Genevieve will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2024 at First Baptist Church in Ste. Genevieve.
Burial will be at Crestlawn Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve.
