CHESTER – The Mississippi River remained above flood stage Wednesday.
The river was at 28.09 Wednesday morning.
It was forecast to fall to 27.9 this morning, then rise to 28.4 Friday, 28.9 Saturday, 29.0 Sunday and then fall to 28.3 Monday.
The high water has forced the suspension of ferry service between Ste. Genevieve, Mo. and Modoc, Ill.
