STE. GENEVIEVE — The Bloomsdale Elementary School fourth grade class teamed up with the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center and the Ste. Genevieve Chamber of Commerce to hold the Third Annual Betty’s Color Splash One Mile Fun Run recently.
Many of these students participated in the Run Club as they worked hard to prepare for the event.
This run was organized and held in memory of SGHS alumna and former Bloomsdale Elementary teacher Bethany Bequette. The initiative supports a scholarship in Bethany’s memory at Ste. Genevieve High School.
Students, families and community members participated in the one-mile walk/run course laid out around Bloomsdale Elementary. Volunteers tossed colored powders on the participants as they ran by, and at the end of the walk and run, everyone participated in the Color Throw, where each person threw color up at the same time to celebrate Bethany.
