CHESTER – The Mississippi River is falling slowly on the Chester gage.
It was at 29.4 yesterday, down two-tenths of a foot from Tuesday’s reading.
It was expected to fall to 29.2 feet today, then rise to 29.8 tomorrow, 30.6 Friday, 30.9 Saturday and 30.8 Sunday.
The high water has idled the Ste. Genevieve Modoc Ferry which has suspended service.
