A funeral will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 for 95-year-old Catherine M. End of Perryville, Missouri who entered the kingdom of heaven on Monday, May 6, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 24, 1929 in Belgique, MO to Leon and Lilly (Modde) L’Hote Sr.. Catherine grew up in Belgique, MO and later graduated from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic High School in Perryville, MO in 1947. She married George A. End Jr. on November 25th, 1951 and was married for 31 years until his death on September 16th, 1983.
Catherine worked as a secretary for 41 years at the International Shoe Factory but her real passion was as an advocate for children with special needs. She devoted her later years serving the disabled community in various roles at My Camp, Terrace Gardens, Perry County Sheltered Workshop as well as being a passionate member of the Perry County SB40 Board.
She also enjoyed her volunteer time at Mercy Perry County Memorial Hospital and as a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville doing countless loads of church laundry among other duties. Catherine was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1263 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Eric (special friend Lynn Carmona) End, Charles End both of Perryville; five grandchildren, Kyle (Pam) Riney, Corey (Abbigal) Riney, Tyson Heise, Heather End, Erica End; nine great-grandchildren, Patrick (Samantha) Siegmund, Lacey (Seth) Amschler, Hannah Riney, Rachel Riney, Chloe Riney, Allie Riney, Jaxton Riney, Ayden End Barnett, Wyatt Bader.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Duane Randy End; daughter, Terry Riney; two sisters, Helen Mertz, Mary Ann Otto; two brothers, Leon L’Hote, Hubert L’Hote.
Catherine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She would do anything for those that she loved. She was tough as nails babysitting for her great-grandchildren well into her eighties.
Visitation will be from 7:30 am to 10:00 am on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Saturday, May 11, 2024 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with Rev. Joe Geders C.M. officiating.
Burial will follow Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville.
