A funeral will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024 for 85-year-old Terry Mark Jungewaelter of Chester, Ill., who passed away at 5:35 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Ill.
He was born September 2, 1938, in Chester, Ill. ,a son of Earl and Margaret (nee McDonald) Jungewaelter who both preceded him in death.
Terry married Beverly Smith in 1962 in Colorado; she survives in Chester.
He is also survived by three children: Lori (Mike) Stewart of O’Fallon, Mo., Jason Jungewaelter (Sarah Young) of Chester, Ill. and Ryan (Shannon) Jungewaelter of Granite City, Ill., a brother: Clifford “Butch” (Jean) Jungewaelter of Chester, Ill.; six grandchildren: Deryk Swalls, Drew Swalls, Ethan Jungewaelter, Shealynn Jungewaelter, Erin Jungewaelter and Mitchell Jungewaelter; two great grandchildren: Mia and Dominick and many cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a son: Mark Jungewaelter.
He was an over the road truck driver for Gilster Mary-Lee Corporation for many years.
Terry was of the Catholic Faith.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 487 in Chester.
Terry enjoyed making boat models and doing his yard work.
When he was younger he enjoyed racing cars.
He was a United States Army Veteran.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the Pechacek Funeral Home, Chester, Ill.

Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, Ill.
Memorials may be made to the Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Chester, Ill., Wounded Warriors or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
