A funeral will be held Monday, April 22, 2034 for 71-year-old Leon Paul Gotto of Perryville, Mo. who passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Mercy Hospital Southeast.
He was born May 30, 1952 in East St. Louis IL to Leon John Gotto and Fayola C. (Turley) Gotto, who both preceded him in death.
He and his wife Debra (Weibrecht) Gotto were married August 17, 1985 at St. Vincent de Paul
Catholic Church in Perryville. She survives.
Leon is also survived by his daughter: Kristen (Logan Northern and Logan’s son Zander Northern) Gotto of Dexter, Mo.., and grandson Bennett Northern.
Other survivors include sisters-in-law: Mary Leah Gotto of Fults, Ill., and Angela Gotto of Perryville, Mo., brothers: Leslie (Pam) Gotto of Kearney, Ariz., Lindell (Marcia) Gotto of Chebanse, Ill., David (Kay) Gotto of Columbia, Ill., and Wayne (Sharon) Gotto of Perryville, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a son: Benjamin Gotto; and brothers: Lonnie Gotto and Daniel J. Gotto.
He worked for TG Missouri as a factory technician.
After retiring, Leon loved spending time with his family and pets Lola and Annabelle.
Leon was a storyteller who never met a stranger. He was quick with a joke, and lived to make others laugh.
He was a history buff who always remained interested in learning about the world around him.
Leon dressed as Santa Claus for many years.
He also enjoyed pressure washing and reading.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, April 21,2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville and will continue from 8-10 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2024 at the funeral home.
A funeral for 71-year-old Leon Paul Gotto of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2024 at Ford & Sons Funeral Home Perryville with Deacon Direk Hunt officiating.
