Norma Lee Layton

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 22, 2024 for 88-year-old Norma Lee Layton of Saint Mary, Mo., who passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Progress West Hospital in O’Fallon, Mo.

 

She was born August 14, 1935 in St. Mary, Mo., a daughter of Mildred Gendron Lawrence Carney and Harry Lawrence.

 

She is survived by a daughter: Diane (Stephen) Engelmann of Lake Saint Louis, Mo.; a brother: Daniel J. Worley of Lake Saint Louis, Mo.; grandchildren: Sean Worley, Kirsten (Bill)McMullen, Alexis (Wes) King, Aleah Worley, Ryan Engelmann; and a great-granddaughter: Lilliana King.

 

She was also preceded by her step-father: Garvey Carney; first Husband and father of her children: Jimmy Paul Worley; her second Husband: Louis “Louie” Layton; a son: David Worley; a brother: James “Jimmy Joe” Joseph Lawrence; and a sister: Mary Ellen Blandford.

 

A graveside service for 88-year-old Norma Lee Layton of Saint Mary, Mo., will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in St. Mary, Mo.

 

Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Volunteer Fire Department.

 

Norma was a member of VFW Woman’s Auxiliary and BackStoppers. She loved to bake for many community events. Norma owned and operated Maison De Coiffure Beauty Salon in Sainte Genevieve for over sixty years.
