A funeral will be held Thursday, April 18, 2024 for 71-year-old Steven F. Trost of Ruma, Ill., who passed away at 11:12 a.m., Friday, April 12, 2024 in Cahokia Heights, Ill.
He was born October 1, 1952 in St. Louis, Mo., son of Ambrose and Rosemarie (nee Wnuk) Trost who both preceded him in death.
Steve married Donna M. Locke July 31, 1982 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois; she survives in Ruma.
He is also survived by two sons: Brad Trost (April Rodenberg) of Red Bud, Ill. and Zac (Emma) Trost of Red Bud, Ill.; a brother: Dan (Julene) Trost of Red Bud, Ill.; four step grandchildren: Elisabeth Hesse, Matthew Hudgens, Alice Rodenberg, and Lee Rodenberg; two sisters-in-law: Shirley (Mike) Cox of Marseilles, Ill. and Barb Ridley (Sally Myers) of Sydney, Australia; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a sister: Mary Trost; and in-laws: Robert and Ruth Locke.
Steve was a lifelong farmer and it was his passion.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus No. 12152, both in Red Bud, Ill.
Steve enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing solitaire.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2024 and 8:30-9:45 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the Pechacek Funeral Homes, Red Bud, Ill.
A funeral mass for 71-year-old Steven F. Trost of Ruma, Ill., will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois. Officiating: Msgr. Dennis Schaefer.
Interment will be in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Red Bud, Ill.
