Amber Alert issued in Perryville for endangered three-year-old

PERRYVILLE – A spokesperson for the Perryville Police Department, Sgt. Jeri Cain has released the following statement following the issuing of an Amber Alert late Wednesday morning.

“This morning, April 10, 2024, at approximately 1145 hours Perryville Police Department Officers spoke to a female subject who alleged on March 19, 2024, she had been assaulted along with her infant child.  The female further alleged the father of the children went on to threaten the life of the infant and their three-year-old child if she reported the assaults and threats to law enforcement.

“According to the female, she and the infant child were abandoned by the father at the hotel they were staying at.  The father took the three-year-old with him and has not had any contact with the mother until yesterday.  Because of this threat, the female stated she did not feel safe in reporting the incident until today.

“Information was gathered and an Amber Alert was issued.  At approximately 1545 hours, the father and three-year-old child were located voluntarily in Tennessee.  This department is working with authorities in Tennessee to investigate the situation further.

“Currently, this is an active and ongoing investigation.  Any charges or arrests will be updated at a later time.”
