MSHP lieutenant from Cape Girardeau is promoted

JEFFERSON CITY – Colonel Eric T. Olson, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the following promotion:

 



Lieutenant Danielle E. Heil, assistant director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control, will be promoted to captain and designated director of the Recruiting and Community Outreach Division effective May 1, 2024.

Heil joined the Patrol on July 1, 1997, as a member of the 74th Recruit Class. Upon graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, she was assigned to Troop E, Zone 6, Scott, Mississippi, and New Madrid counties. On January 1, 2000, she transferred to Troop D, Zone 12, Christian County. Heil transferred to the Division of Drug and Crime Control’s Narcotics Unit on May 27, 2007. She was promoted to corporal on August 1, 2008, and sergeant on December 1, 2012, and remained in the Division of Drug and Crime Control. On September 1, 2022, she was promoted to lieutenant and designated an assistant director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control.

Captain Heil (née Roussel) is from Cape Girardeau, Mo., and graduated from Cape Central High School in 1994. Prior to joining the Patrol, she attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.

 

Capt. Heil is married to Corporal Chad A. Heil (Q/TND) and they have three children.
