A memorial service will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 for 84-year-old Dorothy Lee Layton of Perryville, Mo. passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at her residence.
She was born November 6, 1939 in Jackson, Mo. to Fred Albert and Rosa Sophia (Reigh) Brugger who both preceded her in death.
She and Sylvester Layton were married on April 4, 1964. He survives in Perryville.
Survivors include a son: Paul (Tiffany) Layton of Perryville, Mo.; two daughters, Mary K. (Chris) Maylor of Star, Idaho, and Barb (Brian) Culver of Sikeston, Mo.; a sister: Martha (Mike) Smith of Jackson, Mo.; four grandchildren: Beth (Brian) Bolding, Chris (Alex Reid) Ernst, Ashley (Travis) Price, and Hannah (Lamar) Gordon, and three great grandchildren, Audrey Bolding, Cindy Price, and and Jasper Price.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Roy Brugger.
Visitation will be 5-6 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2024 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

Dorothy was a production lead for Rapco Cable.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and gardening.
She always kept a positive attitude and loved her dogs and her family.
