JEFFERSON CITY — A 34-year-old Bonne Terre man was airlifted to Barnes Jewish Hospital by an Air Evac helicopter Monday night after being seriously injured in a traffic crash on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Brandon L. Recar was the driver of a northbound 2022 Ford FS50 Super Duty which failed to stop when a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia 125 driven by Messado A. Simms of Calumet City, Illinois had to stop due to traffic congestion.
According to the MSHP accident report the front of Recar’s truck struck the rear of the Frieghtliner’s towed unit.
The crash happened about 9:10 p.m. at the 160.2 mile marker.
Simms was uninjured.
Both drivers were buckled up.
The Ford had extensive damage and the Cascadia’s trailer had moderate damage.
Both vehicles were towed by Ives Towing.
