A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 11, 2024 for 55-year-old Timothy “Tim” J. Voss, of Waterloo, Illinois, who passed away at 3:20 pm, Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, Illinois.
He was born April 15, 1968 in Red Bud, Ill., a son of Harry and Jean (nee Junge) Voss who both preceded him in death.
Tim married Deborah Grohmann on September 20, 1991 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Illinois; she survives in Waterloo, Ill.
He is also survived by two sons: Zach (Ashley) Voss of St. Louis, Mo. and Jake (Mackenzie) Voss of Columbia, Ill.; a granddaughter: Oaklynn Voss; 11 siblings: Dennis (Donna) Voss of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Lela (Harvey) Koester of New Athens, Ill., Vernitta Wolter of Red Bud, Ill., Randall (Carolyn) Voss of Red Bud, Ill., Wayne (Jeanie) Voss of Red Bud, Ill., Nola Jean (Sam) Vallett of Walsh, Ill., Mark (Angela) Voss of Red Bud, Ill., Stanley (Janel) Voss of Red Bud, Ill., Cindy Ebers of Red Bud, Ill., Bonnie (TJ) Marshall pf San Antonio, Tex. and Pam (Mike) Henry of Red Bud, Ill.; many nieces, nephews, great Nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was also preceded in death by two siblings: Verdella Voss and Thomas Voss, two brothers-in-law: Floyd Wolter and Larry Ebers; two nephews: Keith Wolter and Matthew Voss, and two great nieces: Charlee Kennedy and Morgan Wolter.
Tim worked as a technology team leader at The Material Works in Red Bud, Illinois for 35 years. He was also involved with Voss Auctions, LLC for many years.
He was a member of Frieden’s United Church of Christ in Hecker, Illinois. Tim was very involved with his church; from mowing the lawn to fixing anything.
Tim enjoyed hunting, gardening, fishing, his tractors, mechanical work on lawnmower, and being the “go-to” person to fix anything. His favorite role was being a grandpa.
Tim never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024 and 10-11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Illinois
