Richard ‘Rick’ Lee Donovan

A graveside service will be held for 66-year-old Richard “Rick” Lee Donovan of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., who passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.

 

He was born March 26, 1958 in Red Bud, Ill., a son of James R. Donovan and Betty E. Donovan who both preceded him in death.

 

He married to Sandra (Carron) Donovan October 11, 1980, She survives in Ste. Genevieve.

 

He is also survived by a brother: Robert (Colleen) Donovan of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; a sister: Carol (Edwin) Bollinger of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; two daughters: Casey (Mark) Baker of Glen Allen, Virginia and Kimberly (Kenneth) Rapp of Bloomsdale, Mo.; grandchildren: Tristan Rapp, Luke Baker, Grady Rapp, Max Baker, and Margot Rapp; and a brother-in-law: Felix Meyer.

 

He was also preceded in death by a sister: Janet M. Meyer; and a mother-in-law: Georgia Carron.

 

Placement of cremated remains will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, Mo. with Rev. Edward Nemeth officiating.

 

Following the graveside service, there will be a Celebration of Life at Knights of Columbus Hall 600 Market Street Sainte Genevieve from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Rick was a former police officer for St. Charles and Arnold areas and a member of Sainte Genevieve Pickle Ball Club.

 

Rick retired from the Health and Safety Department at Mississippi Lime in Sainte Genevieve.

 

He was an avid wood worker and enjoyed being with his family and long trail cycling, especially on The Great Allegheny Passage.

 

Rick was an outstanding husband, father, and Papa and will be greatly missed.
