A funeral will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2024 for 80-year-old Charles Roy Heuman of Walsh, Illinois, who passed away at 11:25 p.m., Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Cedar Ridge Health Care Center, Lebanon, Illinois.
He was born February 1m 1944 in Sparta, Illinois, a son of Roy and Clementine (nee Morrison) Heuman who both preceded him in death.
Charles married Donna Jean Eggemeyer June 12, 1965 at Zion Lutheran Church in Walsh, Illinois; she preceded him in death on August 21, 2015.
He is survived by three children: Ken (Amy) Heuman of Illiopolis, Ill., Cheryl Suedmeyer of Belleville, Ill. and Linda Coleman (Fiancé Bobby Parker) of Cottleville, Mo.; a sister: Joyce Buch of Chester, Ill.; four grandchildren: Kassy (Ross) Burnworth, Kendall Heuman (Fiancé Brian Dietrich), Alyssa Suedmeyer and Jacie Coleman; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his dog – Buddy
Charles had worked at Spartan Aluminum Products in Sparta, Illinois for over 30 years and then went to work at Precision Tool Company in St. Louis for 10 years.
He had been a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Walsh, Illinois and was currently a member of Sparta First United Methodist Church in Sparta, Illinois.
Charles loved camping, especially at Rend Lake.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles and visiting out west.
Charles was a ham radio operator and was known as WA9QOK.
Charles was known for his knack for fixing things and operated Heuman Repair Shop at his home.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Evansville, Illinois.
