SPRINGFIELD – Following eight weeks of rigorous competition, the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA) will announce the winner of the fifth annual “Makers Madness” contest, a bracket-style tournament in which the public voted on which product deserves the 2024 title of The Coolest Thing Made in Illinois.
Presented by Comcast Business, the competition celebrates the incredible work of manufacturers across Illinois, who have long served as the backbone of our state’s economy. Manufacturing is the largest contributor of any industry to the state’s Gross Domestic Product, supporting nearly a third of all jobs in Illinois and contributing more than $580 billion to the state’s economy each year. More than 200 unique products from across the state were nominated for the 2024 title of The Coolest Thing Made in Illinois.
The announcement will be made Wednesday, April 10 at the Governor’s Mansion.
Doors open at 11 a.m., program begins at noon
