A funeral will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024 for 43-year-old William “Willard” and “Willie” Marcus Cornell of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024 at his home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
He was born September 28, 1980 in St. Louis City, Mo..
He married Elisha Bequette October 27, 2019. She survives in Ste. Genevieve.
He is also survived by his mother: Carrie M. Cornell; mother-in-law: Alice Bequette; father-in-law: Steven (Kathy) Bequette; two sisters: Carrie Cornell of St. Louis, Mo., and Nancy Charlene Cornell of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters-in-law: Heather Bequette and Kayla Bequette; four daughters: Brooklyn Johnson, Keani Johnson, Avery Cornell, and Kiara Cornell; four sons: William Cornell, Jr., Cameron Bequette, Trey Cornell, and Bentley Cornell; and many nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Cubbie and Mary Cornell; and an uncle: Harron Cornell.
William proudly served our country in The United States Army from 2004 through 2009.
He went to Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kan.
William was a loving husband and father.
He enjoyed bbq gatherings, dancing, playing basketball, being with his cousins, sister, and was always up for a challenge.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
A funeral for 43-year-old William “Willard” and “Willie” Marcus Cornell of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve. The clergy will be Sherrill Laird.
Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in Saint Louis, Mo.
