CHESTER – On Wednesday March 20, Mike Pries, Gateway F/S Energy Specialist for Gateway F/S, presented a $640 check to Chester High School Agriculture Teacher, Emily Millburg for the CHS FFA Program.
Millburg is the sponsor for the CHS Future Farmers of America (FFA) Program and accepted the donation along with CHS Principal Jeremy Blechle and four members of the CHS FFA, including Mason Ward, Landen Conder, Jackson Scanlan, and Aidan McKinney.
The Gateway F/S Company has conducted a program in Randolph County for many years that at raises the money to make donations to various Randolph County FFA Programs on a rotating basis. These donations help foster the functioning of these Randolph County FFA programs.
To raise the funding to keep this program functioning, “Fast Stop Businesses” in Sparta, Prairie DuRocher and Red Bud (The N&B Fast Stop) donate 3 cents per each gallon of gasoline sold during the month of February each year. F/S takes the total number of gallons sold and multiplies that total number of gallons by the cents. That dollar amount is divided equally among the Randolph County Schools that are chosen for the respective year.
This year, Randolph County schools including Chester, Steeleville, Red Bud, Sparta and Christ Our Savior Lutheran in Evansville were the chosen schools to received the donation of $640 from Gateway F/S.

Millburg noted that this is her 4th year at CHS and in 2020, her inaugural year at CHS, her program was one of the recipients of the F/S donation. She is very grateful for the donation and appreciates the support from F/S.
