Wine Trail celebrates Missouri Food and Farmers

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.–The first Saturday of April, food and wine lovers will have the opportunity to learn more about today’s farmers while visiting six wine trail locations. Celebrating the best of what Missouri has to offer, tickets are selling fast for the sixth annual The Farmers’ Table Wine Trail event, taking place April 6 and made possible with the support of a Missouri Corn and Missouri Soybeans supported program called Missouri CommonGround and the Hermann Wine Trail.

In addition to award-winning wine, The Farmers’ Table Wine Trail will showcase corn, soy, beef, pork, rice, and eggs – all foods representing the state’s vibrant agricultural landscape. At each stop, attendees will have the opportunity to collect informative recipe cards and hear more about each commodity through short videos recorded by Missouri CommonGround volunteers.

The Farmers’ Table Wine Trail runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 6, with tasting experiences at six Hermann Wine Trail locations including Adam Puchta Winery, Curling Vine Winery, G. Husmann Wine Company, Hermannhof Winery, Reserve Cellars of Hermann and Röbller Vineyard. Tickets for the event are $35 and include wine and food pairings, a souvenir wine glass, and the chance to win a drawing for a Missouri gift basket and one night’s stay in Hermann. A limited number of tickets are available and must be purchased online at www.hermannwinetrail.com. Tickets usually sell out before the event.

Showcasing the best of what Missouri agriculture has to offer, The Farmers Table Wine Trail aims to help visitors learn more about today’s food and wine production. Now celebrating its sixth season, this trail is made possible through a unique partnership between Missouri CommonGround, the Hermann Wine Trail, and support from the Missouri Wine & Grape Board. Missouri CommonGround is a group of volunteer farm women passionate about agriculture and sharing their experiences raising food. The program is supported by Missouri farmers through the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council and the Missouri Soybean Merchandising Council.
