Two hurt in I-55 crash Friday morning

JEFFERSON CITY – Two persons suffered moderate injuries in a traffic crash on I-55 in Ste. Genevieve County Friday morning.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 65-year-old Stelle Naeger of Ste. Genevieve and 95-year-old James Roth of St. Mary were taken to Mercy Hospital Jefferson by ambulance for treatment.

 

The patrol says the crash happened when a northbound 2016 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Roth went out ot control as he attempted to pass a northbound 2019 Toyota Corolla driven by 38-year-old Joseph M. Absheer. The passenger side of the Equinoix struck the driver’s side of the Toyota.

 

Absheer was not hurt.

 

Naeger was a passenger in the Equinoix.

 

The crash happened about 7 a.m. at the 156 mile marker.

 

The patrol says all three persons were buckled up.

 

The Equinox had extensive damage and was towed by Ste. Genevieve County Towing.

 

The Toyota had minor damage and was driven from the scene.
