A pilot made an emergency landing on a sandbar just north of the quarry in Ste. Genevieve. There were no injuries to the pilot, reported to be from the St. Louis area. The pilot landed, but due to the soft soil, the tires dug in and the plane flipped on its nose. Damage to the plane was minimal. Mike Draves assisted the pilot in removing the plane from the sandbar.
