Charlie Rahlfs and Isaac Sims participated in the JV extemporaneous category, with Alyssa Heimann participating in the varsity extemporaneous category.

Contestants chose between three envelopes.

Once an envelope is chosen, a few topics are then taken from the envelope randomly. Out of those topics, the contestant has to choose which topic to write a 4-6 minute speech on, and then they have 30 minutes to write out notes for a speech on that topic. Then, they give their speech to judges and answer questions afterward.

Alyssa Heimann came in third in her category.

Brianna Brake participated in the JV prepared category, while Isaac Luebkemann participated in the varsity prepared category.

In this category, contestants wrote and submitted an essay before the contest. They gave the speech that they had written beforehand to judges and answered questions.

Brianna and Isaac each took fifth place in their respective categories.
