STE. GENEVIEVE — 2024 is starting out on the downside for Ste. Genevieve sales tax receipts.
The January one percent sales tax receipts are down nearly $8,000 from the same month last year.
The Missouri Department of Revenue reports the one-percent sales tax brought in nearly $67,000 in January. That total was nearly $75,000 just 12 months ago.
The city public mass transportation and capital improvements taxes were also down.
On the other hand, the city’s consolidated use tax was up. It brought in nearly $59,000, which is up nearly $44,000 from January 2023.
