A visitation will be held Tuesday, Februrary 13, 2024 for 62-year-old Karen Delores Whittenburg of Ellis Grove, Illinois, who passed away Friday, February 9, 2024 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, O’Fallon, Illinois.
She was born May 14, 1961 in Red Bud, Illinois. a daughter of Harold John “Hattie” and Sharon Delores (nee Ramsey) Bodeker who both preceded her in death.
She married Roy Schulein on April 30, 1983; he preceded her in death on August 6, 1986.
She then married Larry Whittenburg on July 28, 1990; he survives in Ellis Grove.
She is also survived by a daughter: Valerie Delores (Zac) Frese of Carrier Mills, Illinois; two grandchildren: Adalae Delores Frese and Jeffery Lawrence Frese; two sisters-in-law: Sheila Bodeker of Jacksonville, IL and Laurie Bodeker of Coatesville, Indiana.
She was also preceded in death by her stepfather: Homer Buck and two brothers: Jeffery and John Bodeker.
She retired as head cook from Chester Grade School after 26 years.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Illinois.

or two Shriners Children’s Hospital.
