Boys Basketball
STE. GENEVIEVE – No. 5 Ste. Genevieve beat No. 9 Fredericktown 47-28 at Mineral Area College in the fifth place bracket of the MAAA Conference Tournament. They ran into a physical and opportunistic West County team Saturday coming up short 49-37 in the fifth place game at Caledonia.
The Dragons face West County Tuesday: junior varsity at 6 and varsity at 7:30.
CHESTER – Chester lost at Sparta 54-51 Friday.
PERRYVILLE – St. Vincent won at Grandview 73-50 Friday.
Jacob Schremp led the Indians with 21 points, Max Wheeler had 18, Colden Prost had 15, Payton Strattman had eight, Parker Ellis had four, Andrew Schumer and Case Huber each had three and Boston Tarillion had one.
The varsity improves to 13-10 on the year, 2-3 in the conference.
The St. Vincent junior varsity won 56-19.
Colden Prost, Case Huber and Wyatt Winkler each had 11 points to lead the JV Indians, Max Wheeler had nine, Gavin Hotop had seven, Quentin Doza had five, Andrew Schumer had two. The junior varsity Indians improve to 14-5 on the season.
The junior varsity and the varsity will host Fredericktown tonight (Monday) at 7:30.
PERRYVILLE – Perryville lost to visiting Scott City 74-49.
The Pirates play at Windsor Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Girls Basketball
PERRYVILLE – Perryville plays at Fredericktown tonight (Monday).

STE. GENEVIEVE – No. 7 seed Ste. Genevieve beat 6th seed Valle 47-35 Friday night. The Dragons scrapped and clawed all game long, but come up short 45-41 Saturday against a stingy Bismarck squad in the 5th place bracket of the MAAA Conference Tournament.
The Dragons play St. Vincent Tuesday, junior varsity at 6 and varsity at 7:30.
STE. GENEVIEVE – The Valle Catholic girls have been seeded 4th in the Class 2 District Tournament that begins February 19th. The Lady Warriors will play 5th seeded Brentwood at 4:30 on Monday, the 19th. Principia is the top seed followed by St. Vincent and New Haven.
Wrestling
STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve girls put in a strong performance at the Class 1, District 1 Tournament.
Qualifying for state in two weeks are Paityn Basler-1st (in photo), Hollyn Zangaro-2nd, Anna Fischer-3rd, Addison Geiler-3rd, and Maggie Price-4th.
STE. GENEVIEVE – Valle wrestles in the Class 1 District 1 Tournament February 16 and 17.
