A funeral will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024 for 97-year-old Vernetta “Nettie” Mae Miller of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. who passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at The Arbors at Parkwood Meadows in Sainte Genevieve, Mo. surrounded by her loving family.
She was born December 11, 1926 in Ste. Genevieve, Mo., a daughter of Henry Rodenmeyer and Charlotte “Lottie” (Herzog) Rodenmeyer.
She married John “Jack” Miller on November 16, 1946. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son: John (Dorothy) Miller of Arlington, Tex.; a daughter: Jane (Richard) Mueller of Chester, Ill.; son-in-law: Rodney Bahr of Saint Louis, Mo.; John’s children: Diane (Roman) Duenez, Dr. John Miller, and Christine (Mike) Buchholz; Jane’s children: Kate (Anthony) Segretario and Dustin Mueller; Kathy’s children: Michael (Jen), Brian (Lauren), and Emily Bahr; Rodney’s son: Kyle Bahr; great grandchildren: Sophie, Liz, and Allie Duenez; Tyler and Caroline Segretario; Max and Gavin Buchholz; and Mia and Harper Bahr.
She was also preceded in death by a brother: Ralph R. Rodenmeyer; and a daughter: Kathleen Bahr.
She was a member of Church of Ste. Genevieve, VFW Auxiliary, Ste. Genevieve Women’s Club, and Ste. Genevieve Hospital Auxiliary.
Nettie enjoyed working for the Rozier family for many years in the women’s clothing department.
She was passionate about her Catholic faith.
Nettie loved people, traveling, baking, and spending time with her family and friends.
She joins her loving parents, husband Jack, daughter Kathy, and brother Ralph in a joyous heavenly reunion.
Nettie lived life to its fullest and set an example for those she left behind.
She was the most loving, caring, and giving mother, grandmother, and friend to many who will miss her tremendously but treasure her memories forever.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Church of Ste. Genevieve in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
A funeral for 97-year-old Vernetta “Nettie” Mae Miller of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 17, 2024 at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. The Rev. Edward Nemeth will officiate.
Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to masses.
