Sounds like NexGen Silica and the handful of sell-out landowners are going ahead with the mine anyway, regardless of being defeated multiple times on the state level.
Local residents around Hawn State Park have heard blasting with reports of heavy equipment entering the site from a new road off 32. I am hearing about “No Mine” signs being vandalized and taken down without permission by mine workers themselves.
NexGen Silica’s strategy would be to initiate the mine, breaking ground, and just start working on it, while any lawsuit would take too long to stop it from getting up and running.
Once, up and running and making money for the state that happens to really like mining and mines, the pro-mining, one-party ruled state and pro-mine local representatives in neighboring St. Francis County would be reluctant to help stop it, getting cover from a complicit media ignoring it.
