A funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 29, 2024 for 82-year-old Shirley Ann Colvis of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 8:10 am, Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
She was born August 1, 1941 in Chester, Ill., a daughter of Jacob and Esther (nee Thiert) Wingerter who both preceded her in death.
Shirley married Leonard “Lenny” H. Colvis on September 11, 1959 in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on May 20, 2009.
She is survived by two sons: Steven (Valerie) Colvis of Stow, Ohio and Gregory (Debbie) Colvis of Clinton, Tenn.; a sister: Linda (Bill) Lang Chester, Ill., five grandchildren: Maria, Josh, Rianne, Ginny and Caitlin; six great grandchildren: Zayn, Titus, Silas, Tessa, Maveryk and Hudsyn; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a brother: Darryl Wingerter
Shirley was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois.
She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be 8-10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2024 at the Pechacek Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois.
A funeral for 82-year-old Shirley Ann Colvis of Chester, Illinois, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at the Pechacek Funeral Home, Chester, Illinois. The Rev. Timothy Sims will officiate.
Entombment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, Illinois.
