A funeral will be held Monday, January 29, 2024 for 98-year-old Doretta Ida Herzog of Sainte Genevieve, Mo., who passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Parkland Health Center in Farmington, Mo.
She was born November 24, 1925 in Coffman, Mo. a daughter of Raymond Gegg and Dora (Vogt) Gegg who both preceded her in death.
She married to James Herzog November 14, 1954. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son: Jim (Susan) Herzog of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; a daughter: Teresa (Kenny) Gadell of Sainte Genevieve, Mo.; grandchildren: Cory (Maggie) Herzog and Tyler (Alyssa Bramhall) Herzog; great-grandson: William Herzog and one grandchild on the way; and nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Vesta (Thomas) Yallaly, Anna Marie (Rhinard) Kreitler; and a brother: Delmar Ray Gegg.
Doretta loved to cook and enjoyed her flowers. She spent her time loving on her grandchildren and great-grandson and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2024 and 8-9 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
A funeral for 98-year-old Doretta Ida Herzog of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at St. Catherine of Alexandria. The Rev. John Schneider will officiate.
Burial will be at St. Catherine of Alexandria Cemetery in Coffman, Mo.
Memorials may be made to charity of choice.
