MAC Homecoming 2024

PARK HILLS — Mineral Area College is gearing up for Homecoming this Saturday, January 27, at the Bob Sechrest Field House. Students, alumni, and the community are invited to come support the MAC Cardinals women’s and men’s basketball teams as they take on Three Rivers College from Poplar Bluff in the “Highway 67 Showdown.”

MAC Athletic Director Jim Gerwitz says the Three Rivers Lady Raiders and both MAC teams are all ranked nationally in the top 20.

The #17 Lady Cardinals take on the #9 Lady Raiders at 5 p.m., followed by the #2 Cardinals versus the Raiders at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for K-12 students. MAC students are free with their ID.

“We would love for the community to come out and pack the “BOB”!” Gerwitz said. “Both our teams are playing extremely good basketball,  I would love to see every seat in the gym full and people standing at the end rails like it was in the early 2000s.”

Members of the #17 MAC Lady Cardinals basketball team show off the free shirts available while supplies last at this Saturday’s Homecoming game.

In addition to seeing some great basketball, free t-shirts will be available for those in attendance. Shirt quantity and sizes are limited, so fans are encouraged to arrive early. Free samples of Jimmy Johns sandwiches will be available while supplies last.

A few lucky fans will be chosen to compete in halftime competitions with a chance to win big prizes like Domino’s pizza for a year, a Crown Pointe Golf Club membership, 2 hours on a golf simulator at The Sand Trap Indoor Golf Club, and gift certificates to Bullpen Sports Grill and Hub’s Pub and Grill.

“Homecoming is always a fun event for our students, community, and athletes. It’s a great time to come out and experience some MAC basketball and support our student athletes” said Gerwitz. “We hope to see you there!”
